Bobbin lacemaking - finishing a bookmark (with no tail)

One way of finishing a bookmark where there is a trail and you don’t want a ‘tail’. Throw out the pair of passives next to the edge passives at each row. All thrown out pairs are tied and snipped close to the lace. The remaining pairs are tied together, and the ends sewn into the trail with a needle, before being snipped off. Pattern designed by Julie Medland. Part of a series of 40 videos of bobbin lace stitches and techniques that we are sharing to support lacemaking as a legacy project for our 40th anniversary. Please see the earlier videos in this series for the basic stitches. These videos show the stitches and techniques as we know them - there may be regional variations or other ways of working them. Please share your approaches in the comments- we love to learn! 😊 Let us know in the comments if you use these videos in your lacemaking.
