Farmview Market Supplier Feature - Byne Blueberry Farms

Long before "organic" was a word you'd see on a grocery shelf, Dick Byne was already growing it. In 1980, he planted 15 acres of blueberries on land that's been in the Byne family for five generations — and became the first commercial blueberry grower in the Central Savannah River Area. Today, Byne Blueberry Farms in Waynesboro is one of the oldest organic blueberry farms in the entire country. In this spotlight, we visit the farm to see how the Byne family — Dick, his wife Linda, and their four daughters — grows the sweetest blueberries that never see a pesticide or herbicide, and turns them into everything from jams and syrups to their award-winning blueberry bbq sauce. This is exactly the kind of partner we're proud to work with: local folks who care about doing the right thing.
