Full Moon & Desert Landscape Photography in Joshua Tree National Park | Day 1

Ahhh what a long summer it has been! Work has been absolutely all consuming, so I jumped at the opportunity to take a car camping weekend in Joshua Tree National Park and enjoy some silence and fresh air. The full moon was set to rise on Saturday night and be the last blue moon for 2 - 3 years. Seeing it in the desert was awesome! Similar to my whirlwind trip to Death Valley National Park, I was still able to come away from this trip with a lot of great images. I felt a little disappointed after my first time photographing this desert world, so as soon as I got the notification of some great weather I couldn't wait to make the return trip. This first part of my trip is the afternoon and evening when I arrived. I knew the sunset would be great with the clear skies and desert air, and the full moon rising over the otherworldly Joshua trees was an experience unlike any other. I was able to get away from the crowds and rain in San Diego for some mild, sunny desert hikes. This is one of the National Parks i've been meaning to visit for some time!
