This time, I participated in the "Okappa-chan Fishing Tournament" hosted by Kawade Orie, who volunteers to find foster homes for animals. It had been two years since I last visited Shirakawa in Gifu Prefecture, but the water level was slightly lower than normal, making for good fishing conditions. That day, I was able to catch a bright yellow ayu (sweetfish) up to 24 centimeters, which was very enjoyable! The Taniguchiya Ryokan, where I stayed the night before, served me freshly caught Shirakawa ayu grilled and it was absolutely delicious!!
