After 40 bands in one of the hottest weekends we've ever experienced, MJ Lenderman and his band took the stage as the festival closer. A one off set for the band months before the drop of the highly acclaimed "Manning Fireworks", DDF was treated to a live and loose set full of highlights and many previews of what was to come. After 3 days on the main stage, the power grid hit its maximum at the last dance. Maybe someone spilled a beer on a surge protector. Maybe it was too much juice. Thankfully, one of our sound engineers is the city's leading electrician, so that will explain some of the cut-offs. Even this camera cuts off during "Bark at The Moon" due to overheating and loses charge before the closer and encore. All in all, something about this performance never saw the light of day. But even in its imperfection, it shows a band in its element on a hot summer night with not much to lose and a little fun to gain. Audio- literally just the camera mic.
