兵庫県立須磨東高等学校がパフォーマンスを披露！＜第18回書道パフォーマンス甲子園＞

The 18th Calligraphy Performance Koshien was held in Shikokuchuo City, Ehime Prefecture, on Sunday, July 27, 2025. The slogan for 2025 is "Ink and Applause: 18 Festivals." Held in Shikokuchuo City, Japan's number one paper-producing city, Calligraphy Performance Koshien aims to contribute to the creation and development of new culture by refining the essence of traditional calligraphy and exploring the appeal of new forms of calligraphy. It also promotes regional exchange in art and culture through calligraphy, promotes the paper industry, and revitalizes the region. By providing a national-scale platform for high school students dedicated to calligraphy performance, the event aims to inspire enthusiasm for calligraphy and foster creative individuals. By creating a competition for high school students, by high school students, the event aims to encourage high school students' independent activities, mutual exchange, and friendship. This year, the 18th tournament, saw participation from 104 schools from across the country, with 21 schools competing in the finals. At the tournament, at the same time as the call of "Onegaishimasu" (thank you), teams of up to 12 players have a limited time of six minutes to complete a piece of writing on a piece of paper measuring 4 meters by 6 meters, accompanied by popular songs and background music. This calligraphy Koshien is a fusion of the Japanese art of calligraphy and the energetic performances of high school students, and is filled with the youth of high school students.
