WINDMILLS BUFFET LAHORE (Off MM Alam Rd) (If you find a better buffet than this in lahore, do let me know) Mera bachpan aur jawani kabana, kababeesh, sallos, hong kong, lung fung, x2, taiwah, mac burger, cave, red nest, haveli, uno, polka parlour , CK ,mirchi etc etc k zamanay k hain jo lahore k best of the best they Buffets main aksar naam bhool gaye lekin aik zamana tha jab veranda, golden lotus, ziafat (still there but relocated) opium thai, taiwah , x2 ney dhoom machai hui thee. Aur un puranay naamon main aik naam aur tha,unique tareen architecture ki wajah sey WIND MILLS, so many memories with this place along with others mentioned above So i was there today at the inauguration day and thats how it went Soup: soups in buffet are normally very average , but this special soup was thick, loaded and full of flavours Tempura Prawns/Fried fish/ honey wings: Now most of the buffets dont serve prawns , and the ones who serve either are limited table serving or if they are unlimited then they are some curled up chewy plasticy stuff. these were huge ones, and unlimited, fish was excellent and none of the seafood had any smell, wings were piping hot , well marinated and sauce to die for. The best part , none of the items had batter / coating that was not crisp or soggy. and the supplies, endless and non stop BBQ: Now thats the area which i entirely avoid at any buffet of present times as all items are over grilled, poorly marinated and bland. but the beef gola kababs looked at me and said '' sannu miss na karna'' the one of the best items on menu, juicy, soft, spicy, excellent mix of masala and one cant stop having them. asli walay purnay nostalgic taste walay beef kabab, i tried chicken gola kabab as well and those were excellent as well but beef is beef. chicken tikka boti was excellent as well . Gravy / Biryani : Beef tawa qeema was kamal, perfect spices, Biryani was very good as well and was spiced to an extent that it catered both types of ppl it was spicy but not too spicy, couldnt try haleem at all Chinese/ continental/ 'shooshi' corner: Tried their one of chinese rice that was very good along with chicken in garlic sauce and both items were top notch, didnt try the other gravy. The chicken tarragon was awesome, couldnt try pasta, pizza or sandwiches or burgers.Crunchy maki and dynamite california rolls were mind blowing Desserts: that section had lots of choices but i was full and stuffed, so could hardly try a piece of cake and brownie that was very moist and gooey ITEMS THAT NEED SERIOUS IMPROVEMENT: chicken karrahi needed attention and lots of improvement , being a simple dish you shouldn't go wrong with it.
