The European Holman-Moody Falcon Sprints

Ford launched the compact Falcon in 1959 to counter the growing threat from Europe. And while fuel economy , and not performance, was the focus, in 1963, the new V8 Sprint arrived, and Ford immediately inducted it into their Total Performance racing program. The Falcon Sprint contested the Monte Carlo Rally in 1963 and '64, and these cars were built by Holman-Moody. The '64 cars then went on to enjoy a second racing life in the British Saloon Car Championship, where they were massively successful. In fact, the Falcon had a longer, more involved racing career in Europe than it did in its home land.
