Conguillio National Park is considered one of the most beautiful in Chile. At its heart lies the Llaima Volcano, with Conguillio Lagoon nestled at its base, and the Truful-Truful River flowing through the park. One of the most beautiful trails leads up to the Sierra Nevada Volcano viewpoint. The park has two entrances: the first and most well-known is through Melipeuco, just 20 minutes from the town. The second is via Captrén, between Malalcahuello and Curacautín, in the northern part of the park. If you visit in winter, I recommend bringing a vehicle with good traction and snow chains in case they are needed. Guided tours are sometimes required for Sierra Nevada due to the challenging snow conditions in winter.
