Ben Allen, a California state senator, sat down with Annenberg Media Politics Editor Benjamin Gamson to outline his vision for California’s insurance markets if elected insurance commissioner in 2026. He discussed how he would address the lack of available homeowners' insurance in fire-prone areas, what the commissioner does on a day-to-day basis, as well as why college students should care about this race.
