Is the Chinese insect farming sector taking over?

I just got back from the International Protein Industry Conference (IPIC) in Beijing, and the contrast is unbelievable. While we focused on high-end protein, China built a massive waste management sector that also produces protein. I sat down with Ruilong Zheng (formerly of Protix, now an independent consultant at Flylong) to reveal the REAL, unpublished numbers on Chinese production that prove insect farming WORKS at scale. In this video, we answer the crucial questions: Why is Chinese Black Soldier Fly (BSF) protein produced at 50% or less of Europe's cost? How did China’s "waste-first" strategy create a cost advantage we can't beat? The surprising "Village Model" that uses low-tech labor to undercut automation. Why technology innovation may have worked better in China due to feedback effects of the larger players The number you NEED to know: the actual cost per tonne of fresh larvae (it will shock you). Is Europe's quality focus just a temporary "shield"? This isn't about cheap knock-offs. It's about a fundamentally different strategic approach. Europe needs to wake up and adapt.
