The Board of Audit and Inspection has confirmed that systematic hiring irregularities have been perpetrated at the National Election Commission (NEC) for the past decade. The NEC has committed irregularities across the board, from top to bottom, to the point where people say it is a "family company" and that hiring relatives is a "tradition." The Board of Audit and Inspection has confirmed over 800 instances of regulatory violations. However, yesterday (the 27th), the Constitutional Court concluded that the Board of Audit and Inspection's inspection of the NEC's duties was unconstitutional. The court reasoned that this did not align with the intent of designating the NEC as an independent constitutional body.
