Hannah O’Flaherty, a straightforward 16‑year‑old boarding school student in Galway, Ireland, stumbles across something extraordinary: a portal hidden in the basement of her school that connects to Perth, Western Australia. Meanwhile, Brett Miller, an Aussie teenager living in Perth, discovers that the portal resides in his basement bedroom. Driven by curiosity, Brett ventures through the portal to Ireland, but his presence gets him into trouble when he's caught near the girls’ showers. Before Hannah turns him in, he shares the secret of the portal, and she helps him escape back through to Australia. Realising the portal is real and that they now share something huge, Hannah agrees to keep it secret. The episode ends with both of their lives changed forever — the portal opens up endless possibilities, but also new challenges.
