The Emptiness Teaches

I keep running in circles Same thoughts in my head Trying to fill the silence With the things you said I built walls out of fear Called it “being strong” But the louder I shouted The more it felt wrong I was holding the pain Like it made me alive Didn’t know letting go Was the way to survive This is the emptiness talking This is the weight in my chest I fed the anger, the hunger Now I’m learning to rest I was the machine of my suffering Running on hate and control Now I breathe in compassion And it’s saving my soul Every face that hurt me Was a mirror inside Every wound was a lesson I was scared to look at I don’t need to win this I don’t need to fight I just need awareness In the middle of the night I don’t blame the world For the scars I see I forgive the past So it won’t own me This is the emptiness breaking This is the crack in the wall When I stopped feeding the fire It stopped burning me whole Breathe in… Let go… Breathe out… Come home… This was the emptiness teaching Not the enemy I thought it was I found peace in the silence I found strength in love
