Saddle Fitting for Challenging Native Ponies

We have already met Mie and Prins in the video Mie, Prins and their First Saddle. In this video Heidi and Gini talk about what makes Prins a very challenging pony to fit even for us. He has a very flat back, forward girth groove, no withers and well sprung ribs, he is also a bit croup high, in fact is narrow shoulders and well sprung ribs mean he is shaped a bit like a Pear ! Also even though Prins has quite a long back for a small pony he has a very short ribcage and of course the saddle cannot extend over the last rib without causing problems. Prins is a bit of a saddle fitters nightmare! At the time of filming he had now had his saddle for two years and a lot of the muscle damage sustained from his previous saddle moving around has repaired. www.thenativeponysaddlecompany.com www.saddleexchange.com
