Weber Smokey Mountain vs Gateway Drum Smoker | Pork Butt Battle!

On today’s cook on Smoke Sermon BBQ, we’re putting two legendary smokers head-to-head. 🔥 22" Weber Smokey Mountain (The Bullet) 🔥 55 Gallon Gateway Drum Smoker I ran two identical pork butts, seasoned exactly the same and cooked side-by-side to see which smoker produces the best pulled pork. The WSM (bullet smoker) has been one of the most respected backyard smokers for decades. It’s known for stable temperatures and classic low-and-slow barbecue. The Gateway Drum Smoker is a competition-style drum that runs hotter with incredible airflow and produces some of the best bark in BBQ. So the question is… Which smoker wins? In this video we compare: • Bark development • Smoke flavor • Tenderness and moisture • Cook time • Overall flavor After the cook, we pull both pork butts and compare them side-by-side. And of course we’re making my Sweet BBQ Pulled Pork, which is a crowd favorite for parties, catering, and backyard cooks. Around here we always say… “Let the Smoke Speak.” Sweet Pork Rub 1/2 cup brown sugar 2 tbsp kosher salt 2 tbsp paprika 1 tbsp coarse black pepper 1 tbsp garlic powder 1 tbsp onion powder 2 tsp chili powder 2 tsp mustard powder 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for heat) Mix thoroughly and store in an airtight container. This rub works great on: • Pork butt • Ribs • Chicken • Pork belly Wrapping: Placed into foil pans with half can of Dr. Pepper, honey and some brown sugar. Sealed tight and back on the smoker till probe tender. #SmokeSermonBBQ #PulledPork #WeberSmokeyMountain #GatewayDrum #BBQ #BackyardBBQ #PorkButt #BBQRecipe #BBQSmoker #BBQComparison
