UMES Presidential Lecture Series - Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, February 19, 2025

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore hosted acclaimed author and academic Dr. Michael Eric Dyson on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 as part of UMES president Heidi M. Anderson’s inaugural Presidential Lecture Series. The author of more than 25 books, including seven New York Times bestsellers, Dr. Dyson is currently the Centennial Chair and a Distinguished Professor at Vanderbilt University. Throughout most of his career, Dr. Dyson has also been a commentator or guest on some of the nation’s most influential television and radio programs, such as NPR’s “Morning Edition” and “Fresh Air with Terry Gross,” as well as “Meet the Press,” “Face the Nation,” NBC’s “Today” show, “Good Morning America,” “Real Time with Bill Maher,” MSNBC, CNN, Fox News, and even “Black-ish.”
