I like to call this region Russia's California, as in my opinion there are quite a lot of parallels. Sochi is most famous for being the host city of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, and it's also a very popular tourist location, as it is one of the few places in Russia which has palm trees and warm weather all year round.
