But the history of this self-defense weapon began with the barrel-less class. Its ancestor is the OSA system. It's safe to say about this weapon that "there are no analogues," as it was created by a resourceful Russian mind with its characteristic cunning for circumventing various restrictions. In general, creating a weapon that stops without killing is a very difficult task, since the measure of a weapon's quality is usually the ability to do so as quickly as possible. In any case, the OSA was created with the concept of maximum stopping power and constant readiness for fire. The system is barrelless, meaning the cartridge case serves as the barrel. Furthermore, the weapon is designed without a chamber and has no safety lever, allowing the pistol to be brought into action very quickly. With the price of traumatic pistols long since outstripped (a decent pistol in 2023 costs between 60,000 and 90,000 rubles without additional expenses), the OSA system may prove to be a relatively inexpensive self-defense weapon. My choice is the OSA PB-4-2 pistol chambered for 18.5x55mm cartridges. In this video, I'll share five reasons why I chose this limited-lethal firearm as my first weapon.
