He explains that believers know idols are not real gods and that there is only one true God—the Father—and one Lord, Jesus Christ. Because of this knowledge, eating such food is not inherently sinful. However, not every believer has the same understanding or spiritual maturity. Paul emphasizes that love is more important than knowledge. While some Christians may feel free to eat food associated with idol worship, others with weaker consciences may be troubled by it. If exercising one's freedom causes another believer to stumble or violate their conscience, it becomes wrong. Paul concludes that he would rather give up eating meat altogether than cause a fellow believer to fall into sin. The key lesson of 1st Corinthians chapter 8 is: Christian freedom should be guided by love and concern for others.
