Confidential Computing: Why It Has to Be Cloud, and It Has to Be Open - Mike Bursell, Confidential Computing Consortium Confidential Computing is the protection of data in use by performing computation in a hardware-based, attested Trusted Execution Environment, and it provides a primitive which you can use to improve the security of your and your customers' supply chains. It can allow you to reduce your supply chain (drastically), provide greater cryptographic assurance, attest to the integrity of code and data and protect your most sensitive applications before, during and after deployment. It's also available now in silicon from AMD, Arm, Intel and NVidia, in pretty much every cloud, even if you've not heard of it yet. If you haven't heard about Confidential Computing or aren't clear on the details, this is the session for you. We'll also discuss the importance of open source for Confidential Computing: one of those technologies where open is vital. You'll learn about the work of the Confidential Computing Consortium (a Linux Foundation project), and how to get involved.
