How to Glaze a Power Weapon | Painting Guide

It’s finally here — my very first full painting guide! In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create smooth color transitions on a power weapon using glazing. We’ll cover: • The right paint consistency for glazing • How to remove excess moisture from your brush • How to build smooth highlights and shadows • How to sharpen the effect with edge highlights Paints used: • Ahriman Blue – base color • Temple Guard Blue – bright glaze and highlights • Stegadon Scale Green – shaded areas • Matt White – final highlights Start with a smooth basecoat of Ahriman Blue. Glaze Temple Guard Blue toward the brighter sections of the blade and Stegadon Scale Green toward the opposite shaded sections. Apply several thin layers, covering a slightly smaller area with each layer to create a smoother transition. Highlight the edges with Temple Guard Blue, followed by a 50/50 mix of Temple Guard Blue and Matt White. Finish with pure Matt White on the sharpest points. The entire effect is painted with a regular brush — no airbrush required. Since this is my first longer tutorial, your feedback would mean a lot to me.
