This strategic step was taken to revitalize activity at the traditional market while providing a showcase for local creative talents. To attract creative entrepreneurs, the Madiun City Government is implementing a proactive policy of waiving kiosk rental fees for the first six months. The public response has been positive; dozens of applicants have participated in a curation and selection process tailored to the availability of kiosks at Sleko Market. This concept is designed not just as a sales space, but as a community hub that will foster a new creative ecosystem in Madiun City. As part of its long-term vision, the Madiun City Government plans to undertake a comprehensive redevelopment, particularly on the second floor of Sleko Market. This transformation is expected to erode the rigid image of traditional markets and transform them into modern, youth-friendly creative market destinations. To maintain the sustainability of this economic pulse, the Department of Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports (Disbudparpora) and the Creative Economy Forum will regularly hold various supporting activities.
