BCSO: Operation Safe Streets 🔥🚔

MEDIA RELEASE: Operation Safe Streets Over the course of 90 days, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit, Drug Unit, Strategic Intelligence Center, Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Gang Task Force, United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Crash Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Unit, and Georgia State Patrol concentrated efforts on recent crime analysis. Statistics indicated a pattern of increased shots fired incidents within high crime areas as well as ongoing loitering at convenience stores and commercial properties linked to criminal activity. Through independent investigations, an overlap was observed in drug activity, firearm possession, and violent offenders with active warrants. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office along with the assistance of State and Federal agencies were able to execute search warrants, arrest warrants, and traffic enforcement. Upon completion of Operation Safe Streets, the following items were recovered: 1. Approximately 26 Firearms seized 2. Approximately 7 pounds of marijuana 3. Approximately 4.6 ounces of Cocaine 4. Approximately 13 grams of Methamphetamine 5. Approximately 12 grams of Fentanyl Sheriff David Davis released the following statement on the operation. “Every firearm seized, every dangerous drug removed from our streets, and every violent offender taken into custody makes our community safer. Operation Safe Streets was about protecting the residents of Bibb County and improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods. These results are a direct reflection of the strong partnerships between local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and our shared commitment to reducing crime and violence. Forty-one arrests and the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and 26 firearms represents a significant disruption to criminal networks that threaten the safety of our community. We will continue to identify problem areas; target repeat offenders and take proactive steps to keep our citizens safe.” Sheriff David J.
