Thomas Mason of Gods River

Thomas tells that the lives led today are easy compared to his youth. He goes on to share that child birthing was all done locally with no nurses or doctors. He goes on to share that even though the birthing process was extremely strenous on woman, it made the mother as well as the baby very strong. Thomas tells that children birthed that way were born much healthier and experienced fewer problems than kids born that are born with modern doctors. Thomas goes on to share his experiences with the introduction of the Hudson bay and the poor treatment of his people from the said company. Thomas also shares that his wife was very highly skilled in midwifery, but also of her expertise in the making of curing ill children. He goes on to say that Modern men would not be able to live that lifestyle as they are not as strong as the men in his youth. Thomas also shares the state of fishing before and after the introduction of The Hudson Bay; that it was ultimately devastating for the locals who depended on it as a sustainable food source.
