Budget Lightfast Pencils? Woomer Colored Pencil Review

A set of 72 lightfast pencils for around $30? This sounds too good to be true but those are the claims put forth by Woomer about their new artist colored pencils. See them here: https://amzn.to/4hn9hxv *Affiliate link used, product was sent to me for review. I asked for verification that lightfastness testing was done on these pencils, and they provided it to me. The report showed a swatch exposed in a machine over 10 days to replicate years of exposure under museum conditions. The only fading I saw was on some purples and very minimal fading on ultramarine blue. These were all 3-star rated. These were rated on a 1-5 scale using a grey card in the fathometer; 1 is the least lightfast, and 5 is the most. I think the 5* is aaLF1, a 4* is aaLF2, and the 3* is aaLF3 on the ASTM scale. If lightfastness is your utmost concern, I'd stick to the 4-5* and still take it with a grain of salt because it wasn't evaluated by ASTM which Derwent Lightfast and Caran Dasche Luminance are rated BUT the price is 6x higher for those. These are not similar to those pencils in feel. I honestly feel that if you did this test on any budget pencils you would get similar results, some being lightfast and some not, I think Woomer comprised the set of the most lightfast budget pigments available but that is just based on my opinion. These are the closest pencils to Prismacolor I have found. Pros: Price Extra soft blendable lead Sharpens well in electric and handheld sharpeners-no breakage Great color selection Contains lightfasness info Comes with a swatch card with lightfast info on the back of the belly band (this paper is not great for pencils but I'd keep it for the info) Cons: No open stock availability Because they are very soft you can only get about 3 layers before burnishing. Bottom line: If you love Prismacolor, you will like these, they are a bit less pigmented but absolutely as soft and have fewer issues with breakage, in my experience.
