Drame de plongée dans les Calanques (Grotte Cosquer - 1991)

On September 1, 1991, four divers from Grenoble descended into the clear waters of the Mediterranean, a stone's throw from the Calanque de la Triperie. They entered a small, highly promising but unofficial cavern located 37 meters below the surface. The opening, which was increasingly gaining attention in the highly exclusive world of cave diving, measured 1.8 meters high and 3 meters wide, and offered no difficult access. It was easy to enter and experience the thrill of an easy and exciting discovery. The problem was that these four divers were amateurs. And when you're an amateur diver, you don't rush into an underwater cave you don't know. Otherwise... you risk having a difficult experience, one that could end very, very badly. After several dozen minutes, one of the four divers resurfaced, in tears. Sources: Gilles' story: https://ascadplon.org/wordpress/2006/...
