The 'Mortimer' family were (and still are) the most famous name within the brass band community and made a significant impact on the history of the band. Harry Mortimer is probably the most 'well known' of the family, being a former Principal Cornet and Conductor as well as leading a 'dual' life balancing his work with Foden's as well as a busy Orchestral career.
