Harry Mortimer Celebration Concert 2022
Harry Mortimer Celebration Concert | Available in 4K 25th September 2022 Conductor: Michael Fowles MC: Paul Hindmarsh This concert marks the 120th year since the birth of Harry Mortimer as well as 30 years since his passing. The 'Mortimer' family were (and still are) the most famous name within the brass band community and made a significant impact on the history of the band. Harry Mortimer is probably the most 'well known' of the family, being a former Principal Cornet and Conductor as well as leading a 'dual' life balancing his work with Foden's as well as a busy Orchestral career. Today's concert gives a narrated overview of Harry Mortimer's life (and the Mortimer family) with music associated with major points in his career. 00:00 Introduction 6:57 The Cossack 17:54 Alpine Echos 26:32 Elegy from A Downland Suite 32:46 The Medallion 35:59 William Tell 52:52 Little Serenade 1:04:22 The Lost Chord 1:11:24 A few words from Martin Mortimer 1:16:30 Kingdom Triumphant Video/audio production: Jon Probert
