Canon LP E17 Aftermarket Battery Experience

Hello hello mom and dad meet world-kinda viewers. We had picked up some aftermarket batteries for a Canon R8. We were not provided a Canon LP-E17 factory/OEM battery as the camera we bought was missing it when we picked it up in Open Box condition. The batteries actually fit inside the R8 battery compartment without issue. The batteries were also inexpensive. We got a K&F brand with 3 batteries and a triple charger and a TAVT brand 2 pack that charge via usb C. Both brand batteries last for a couple hundred shots or so and about 1.5 hours of recording time with on and off recording at 4k60. However, the battery indicator on the camera itself is not accurate- it always shows full. I had it show full on me and then just turn off after about 1.5 hours of use. The other thing is that if you plug in a usb C cable into Canon R8 itself, it will not charge either the TAVT or K&F. You will need to plug the usb C cable into the TAVT battery, that’s not a problem. You will need the K&F charger to charge the K&F batteries too. There’s pluses and minuses, but ultimately you’ll need to keep track of how many pictures or how long you’re recorded. Check it out and thanks for watching! #CanonLPE17 #LPE17Battery #CanonLPE17AftermarketBattery #CanonR8 Video was taken with the iPhone 17 Pro Max and Sony ZV-E1 with 16-35mm F4 Zeiss lens.
