Precious Memories Vol.3 Late Bishop CE Poole & Late Mother Mattie B. Poole God Aint Dead Pt. 2
Excerpts from side 2 of the album, God Ain't Dead, recorded in the early 1960's. Listen to how the saints used to have church before the spirit of "wanting to be like everybody else" invaded many Apostolic Churches. The music did not have to run 90 miles per hour just so folks could shout or show off a worldy spirit. The Temple in those days did not have drums and still hundreds of people in the auditorium could clap, double-clap and keep time as most Apostolic Churches could, with out drums. They had no choir nor praise team to entertain the church, just plain old Holy Ghost church service in which the saints sang together led in song by Mother Poole and Sister Mary Goss. Oh for an Apostolic Church today that refuses to allow the world to dictate how to praise or of what praise consist. Its been nearly 40 years since I've been saved and baptized in Jesus' name at the Temple, and these and other recording of Holiness churches of days gone by has been stability, in a religious world that is upside down. Often I would rather stay home and listen to a recording of truth than to go to church and look at someone telling me a lie or singing a lie. God willing more old time recordings of church before "showbiz" took over to come. Peace.
