Psycho Attack Over Europe
“Psychobilly,” or, as the name of this musical genre is correctly pronounced, “psychobilly,” is a genre of rock music that combines the expression and aggressiveness of punk rock with the melody of country and rockabilly. The genre appeared in 1975. In 1986, the Dutch record company "Kix 4 U" released the first collection in the series "Psycho Attack Over Europe!". It brings together songs from leading Psychobilly bands. This style is fresh and popular. Marek Proniewicz, founder and director of the Polish firm Tonpress, decides to buy a license and release his own version of this collection. The cover design is changing. Kix 4 U's Bert Rockhausen creates a new track listing. The circulation is printed at the Leningrad record plant "Melodiya". Nobody cares about the correct pronunciation: we call the collection “Psychatack”, by analogy with the maneuver of the Kappelites from the film “Chapaev”.
