A playthrough of Sega's 1991 platform game for the Sega Genesis, Sonic the Hedgehog. Got all of the chaos emeralds and the best ending. As classic as any of Mario's adventures were, Sonic's premier game truly was a massive achievement back in 1991. Sega took the eminent playability and simplicity that made the Mario games so great and reformed it all into something blazing fast, colorful, and entirely 90s in its personality. It also finally positioned Sega to take the (slight) lead that it fought so hard for over Nintendo in the hallowed game system wars of the 16-bit generation. But then, I'm merely stating the obvious.
