Myanmar's fight for freedom and the dream of democracy | Radio Free Asia (RFA)

Myanmar's battle lines are constantly shifting as rebel forces, comprised of dozens of factions, make significant gains against the military junta since the February 2021 coup. Ethnic armed groups and People’s Defense Force (PDF) units, with tens of thousands of fighters, have joined forces to challenge military rule. However, ousting the junta remains uncertain, and the ongoing conflict has displaced over 3 million people. As ethnic groups and PDFs reclaim territory, the hope for a federal government and shared power among Myanmar's communities seem distant, but remains a dream for many. For the first time, an RFA team has returned to Myanmar to speak with those on the front lines, exploring their hopes for the future despite the bloodshed.
