MANHIÇA: CAR ACCIDENT CAUSES 24 DEATHS; DRIVER SURVIVES AFTER JUMPING FROM CAR At least 24 people lost their lives this Monday morning after a 15-passenger semi-bus overturned and plunged into a stream in the Ka-Zabela area of Manhiça district, Maputo province. The car, traveling from Gaza to Maputo, was carrying more passengers than it could handle and also injured several people, who were taken to the Manhiça District Hospital. The bodies of the fatal victims were taken to the morgue at the same hospital. This is the second accident in less than 24 hours in the same region. Yesterday, six people died in Maluana. According to witnesses, the driver jumped from the car moments before the crash. He survived but is injured and unable to communicate.
