Rainy Kyoto Was Better Than We Expected 🇯🇵 | Matcha, Ramen & Rare Seiko Watches

Not every day in Japan needs perfect weather. It was pouring rain in Kyoto, but that ended up making the city feel completely different. There were fewer tourists, the streets were quieter, and we could just slow down and enjoy the day. We explored parks around Kyoto, wandered through the old streets of Gion, stopped for matcha and baked goods, ate Ichiran ramen and spent time simply walking around the city. One of the highlights came when we returned to the sushi restaurant from the day before to deliver a small omiyage gift. We were given an amazing gift in return — a completely unexpected moment and one of our favourite memories from Kyoto. Then, to finish the day, we somehow managed to find and buy the sought-after Seiko Nano watches we had been looking for. 😮⌚ Rain, matcha, ramen, quiet Kyoto streets and a few genuinely unexpected moments. Sometimes those are the best travel days.
