How to Replace Archery D-Loop
Modern compound bows have several mechanical advantages over traditional bow technology. To get the most consistency out of a compound bow most compound bow archers elect to forgo the traditional finger release, wherein the string is drawn and released directly from fingertips, in favor of a mechanical release aid, usually referred to simply as a “release.” Rather than clip the release directly to the bow string it is more common to install and use what is known as a “D-loop.” The D-loop is a short length of cordage tied onto the main string above and below the nock point and gives the release a solid, consistent place to clip into. Alex Azeredo walks through the steps he uses to install a nock point and D-loop to be ready for the season. 00:10 Intro 00:21 Remove Old D Loop 01:01 Nocking Point Overview 02:13 Tie New Nocking Points 02:50 Bottom Nock Knot 06:22 Top Nock Knot 09:26 D Loop Material Overivew 09:43 D Loop Bottom Knot 10:20 Tighten Knot 11:04 Remove Excess Tag 12:13 D Loop Top Knot 13:45 Tighten D Loop 14:20 Remove Excess Tag 15:14 Outro
