Why Your Nik Edits Are Too Strong (And What To Do About It)
If you’ve ever felt that your Nik Collection edits look too strong, you’re not alone. It’s a common complaint I hear from photographers. In this video, I’ll show you why this happens and demonstrate several simple ways to create much more natural-looking results in Nik Color Efex. Along the way, you’ll learn how filter opacity, control points, negative selections and the Nik selection tools work together to give you far more control over your edits. The good news is that you don’t always need to change the filter settings themselves. Often, small adjustments to opacity and selections can make a dramatic difference and help you avoid overprocessed results. I’m demonstrating everything using Nik Collection 9, but many of these techniques also apply to earlier versions. New to Nik Collection?
