"I Used To Judge Fat People" | Weight Loss Psychology (Ep 6)
Weight stigma is all around us. It's hidden in the way buildings are designed, in the words we use, in what we don't say. In this sixth video in my weight loss psychology series, I admit the uncomfortable truth that I used to judge people for their weight. I talk about how we all hold biases, but how we can overcome these with reflection and by challenging our own assumptions. And if you're living in a larger body, I want to say I'm sorry. I've changed. And I want to keep learning how I can do better. NOTE: In this video I talk about larger bodies, obesity, overweight, fat. People use different language to describe their bodies. Obesity and overweight are technical terms based on Body Mass Index (BMI), but it's important to be aware BMI tells us nothing about the internal composition of people's bodies, nor about how physically active they are or how healthily they eat.
