They discussed Ukraine's decision to open the archives of the SBU and the Foreign Intelligence Service regarding the tragic events of the 20th century in Volhynia as a step towards a historical dialogue with Poland and overcoming contradictions, which, according to Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosińska-Kamyś, are only beneficial to Russia. Historian and lawyer Serhiy Berendeev noted that a significant part of the documents had already been studied by joint Ukrainian-Polish historical commissions, and the new opening of the archives could help verify the facts, refute manipulations, and identify possible Soviet operations to incite conflicts between Ukrainians and Poles.
