I Rebuilt 250 Years of History in Minecraft (British Architecture Timeline)

Why do our streets look the way they do? To find out, my team and I built a massive 2,500-block timeline of British Architecture in Minecraft. From the ashes of the 1666 Great Fire of London to the peaceful Edwardian garden suburbs of 1912, we are taking a 300-year journey through history. We'll explore the rigid rules of the Georgian era, the blinding white stucco of Regency high society, the smog and steam of the Victorian industrial explosion, and the warm nostalgia of the Edwardian arts and crafts movement. In this video, we cover: • The Stuart Era (1660-1714): Why the Great Fire ended the age of timber and gave birth to the "Polite" brick house. • The Georgian Era (1714-1830): The rise of the terraced house, the "Rates" system, and the strict rules of Bedford Square. • The Regency Era (1790-1837): Stucco palaces, the sweeping curves of the crescent, and the seaside holiday. • The Victorian Era (1837-1901): The "Battle of the Styles," the explosion of the Railways (Euston & Huddersfield), and the industrial red brick city. • The Edwardian Era (1901-1914): The Arts & Crafts movement, the return to the "Garden Suburb," and the first concrete skyscrapers. This project was heavily inspired by the works of architectural historian Trevor Yorke.
