Simple Sewing Tutorial: How to make a Handbag using Table Place Mats

Today I have another quick and easy sewing project - creating a hand bag out of 2 round straw table mats! This is a super cool idea that involves very basic sewing skills and is another great way of learning the art of sewing, plus achieving something useful. I have made two of these, one as a handbag embellish with a nice leather rose, I made several years ago, the other I fixed rope handles to and it’s my beach bag!
