I rode a commuter train route around the Moscow region, which largely coincides with the Golden Ring (R-132). It could also be called the Golden Railway Ring, perhaps. You should only start from Pishchalkino on Tuesdays, as the route from Vyazma to Rzhev can only be traveled on Sundays. A full circle on 19 trains, with two short hitchhiking stops, takes at least six days. I covered 1,720 km by rail and 82 km by hitchhiking. The maximum price for this route is 7,218.4 rubles, based on prices for the fall of 2025, but I paid 6,740.4 rubles.
