Commuting from Thorpe Marriott into Norwich by bike

Thorpe Marriott is the suburb furthest away from the centre of Norwich. The main road connecting it to the city is the A1067 Fakenham Road, at busy times it's slow. The buses of course, get stuck in the traffic and the fares aren't exactly cheap. But the Marriott's Way runs right through the suburb and connects it to Norwich. Marriott's Way is a part of Sustran's National Cycle Route 1, or the Red Peadalway as it's know in Norwich. It's mostly had an upgrade with a crushed stone running surface from Hellesdon to the Fakenham Road at Drayton, leaving a short section to Thorpe Marriott in need of improvement. From Hellesdon to the city, it has a hard tarmac surface. Marriott's way is getting to be a very popular cycling route, with truly impressive numbers of riders, especially at peak morning commute times. This video was recorded on August 1sr 2022 around midday, a very quiet time, to show just how good, direct and quick cycle commuting along it is. At quiet times it takes around 20 minutes to drive following the A1067, at busy time it will be longer than that. This cycle trip was done in 30 minutes
