These eyewitness stories serve as a valuable resource for historical research, offering a human connection that written records alone cannot provide. Through this channel, numerous long-lost families have been reconnected, many after decades of separation. The stories shared here have helped bring people from both sides of Punjab closer, clearing misconceptions and dissolving hostility that was inherited from political propaganda or ideological narratives. My mission is to show the people of both Punjabs that: neither side was the enemy, both were victims of the political and religious extremism of that time, and compassion, understanding, and shared humanity are the true lessons of 1947.
