2027 Lexus UX Looks Insane! Futuristic Design and Premium Comfort - The UX330h subcompact hybrid SUV is both the smallest and least expensive Lexus model available. It’s also remarkably efficient, the EPA estimating up to 45 mpg city and 41 mpg highway. Undeniably thrifty, its sculpted exterior lacks the characteristic chutzpah of its larger SUV siblings, and although well-equipped, the interior is light on panache. Still, Lexus makes it easy to dial in your preferences with available all-wheel drive and snazzy F Sport trim, which can be paired with an adaptive suspension handling package to add some drama to your daily commute. But even in its base form, it shines as a thrifty, upscale transport as long as hauling large numbers of passengers and lots of cargo is not its primary mission. The UX300h is available only as a hybrid, and its powertrain setup provides quicker and smoother acceleration than the previous UX250h, which was sluggish. If you opt for all-wheel drive, there’s an additional electric motor that powers the rear wheels, but combined total power output remains 196 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission is standard across the board. The UX is nimble and maneuverable thanks to its small size, and it provides a surprisingly plush and quiet ride. The adaptive dampers available on the F Sport Handling model are a nice add-on, offering a range of adjustments to either soften or firm up the suspension depending on what kind of driving you’re doing. But the F Sport package isn't transformative for the UX's driving experience. The front-wheel-drive UX300h we tested delivered a 7.7-second sprint to 60 mph. That's a half-second quicker than the old UX250h, and adequate for most buyers—but far behind the many subcompact luxury SUVs. A Mercedes-Benz GLB-class, for instance, hits 60 mph in 6.0 seconds. Official EPA estimates for the front-wheel drive 2026 UX300h come in at 46 mpg city, 42 mpg highway, and 44 mpg combined. Futuristic Design and Premium Comfort While we haven’t yet had a chance to take the UX300h on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route and report its real-world mpg, we did measure a 40-mpg average during its two-week stay at C/D. First Row: Front passengers enjoy typical Lexus appointments, including premium upholstery, detailed stitching throughout, and soft-touch plastics. The seats are comfortable and supportive, and the cabin's snug dimensions are either cozy or cramped, depending on the size of the occupants and their preferences. Second Row: While the back seat is far from spacious, it's also not as tight as one might expect from such a small footprint. Competitors such as the BMW X1 offer a bit more legroom, however.
