Plum Galette Recipe (Perfect Summer Dessert)
The recipe for the Plum Galette For Dough: 200g all-purpose flour 1 tbsp granulated sugar Pinch of salt 100g cold unsalted butter 4-5 tbsp ice water For Filling: 5 plums 1tbsp corn starch 1tbsp brown sugar 3tbsp plum marmalade 1 egg yolk (mixed with 1tbsp of water) Brown sugar for edges Powdered sugar for dusting Direction: In a food processor add flour, salt, sugar, and pulse to combine. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture resembles crumbs, with pieces of butter no bigger than a pea. Add the ice water and pulse until the dough just barely comes together. Gather the dough and pat it into a disk. Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate until chilled about 30 minutes. In a bowl stir the plum slices with brown sugar and corn starch. Preheat the oven to 400°F/200°C. Put the parchment paper, lightly flour, and roll out the dough. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet. In the center put on marmalade then plums, leaving a 4cm border all around. Fold the edges of the dough and rim with egg wash and sprinkle with additional brown sugar. Bake the galette for about 30 minutes or until the crust is golden. Let the galette cool on the baking sheet and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
