Sharpies and Mods - Melbourne 1966
An excerpt from the Australian 1966 ABC TV 'Four Corners' programme episode "Go-Go Where?", looking at the youth culture of Melbourne. In this excerpt the Sharpies and the Mods are featured. Discotheques need to employ bouncers because of brawls that happen between the Sharpies and the Mods. A teenage mod is interviewed about the fights between the Sharpies and the Mods. Sharpies are kept out of teenage discotheques and dances. Sharpies usually wait outside the dances in the dark to pick fights with the mods.
