Zuni, Navajo and Pueblo Indian Channel Inlay Jewelry, A Guide to Identification and History
A variety of Southwest Native American Tribes produce inlay Indian jewelry. Zuni inlay jewelry is probably best known for this type of process, with the famous silversmith Leo Pablano being one of the most recognized. But the Zuni Pueblo isn't the only tribe making this inlay Indian jewelry. Today the Navajo probably produce the majority of channel inlay work, and almost all the Pueblo Indians are producing both channel and pebble inlay jewelry too. Dr. Mark Sublette, owner of Medicine Man Gallery with 30 years of experience, explains the types of inlays being produced and shows examples of the different Native American inlay work specifically from the Zuni, Navajo, and the Rio Grande Pueblo tribes. Examples include a stellar Saiyataca Zuni Longhorn kachina by Leo Pablano. View our collection of Native American jewelry: https://www.medicinemangallery.com/na...
