Making A Sundial - Planning and Drawing

I'm going to make two sundials. A Vertical one and a Horizontal one. Sundials have been used since around 1500BCE and I've always wanted to make one myself as they are inherently, deeply sculptural objects. They also link to my on going fasciation with technology and the way in which the purpose of a tool affects it form. I'll be posting every few days - detailing the process of cutting, carving, casting and manipulating various materials to create two new sculptures
