Hey everyone, how's it going? In this video, I share my journey as a guitarist, diving into the world of extreme metal. A journey that began in heavy metal, passing through hard rock, the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and punk rock. Over time, bands like Metallica, Exodus, Slayer, Sepultura, Dorsal Atlântica, Death, and Celtic Frost expanded my horizons and shaped my musical language. But the biggest lesson was realizing that the love for heavy metal — or any style — shouldn't be confined to labels. Often, the genuine listener is labeled a "metalhead," a term that in Brazil has taken on a pejorative tone, created and reinforced by the mainstream media, as if it were something limiting to our expression. When we cling to a label, we close ourselves off. We forget that metal itself was born from the mixture of various styles and that its musicians have always drawn from many different sources. Metal is fusion, it's transformation, it's freedom. In the end, the label doesn't matter. My passion liberates me. It makes me listen, create, and play without barriers.
